We are looking for volunteers to participate in community planning workshops for our Heat, Health, & Equity project. These workshops will be held in neighborhoods throughout Northern Manhattan to develop policy recommendations to reduce the health impacts of extreme heat in our communities. The workshops are scheduled as follows:
Location: Dominican Women’s Development Center
715 West 179th Street (between Fort Washington Avenue & Broadway)
6:30 pm - 8:30pm
Central Harlem – Dec. 5th
Location: National Black Leadership Commission on Health
215 West 125th Street, 3rd Floor (between 125th & Adam Clayton Powell)
6:30pm - 8:30pm
East Harlem – Dec. 7th
Location: Picture the Homeless
104 East 102th Street, #1B (between Park & Lexington Avenues)
11:00am - 1:00pm
If you are interested in participating (compensation for your time will be available), sign up here with which neighborhood you are from (see above) along with your name, address, and phone number. The workshops will be approximately two hours.
After these workshops, we will be working on policy recommendations based on the input you provide. And we will encourage participants to join us again in 2020 to help push for legislation based on these community-generated recommendations.
You will receive $25 and a meal for your participation! *Spanish interpretation provided
