The Flint Michigan water crisis is a drinking water contamination crisis that started in April 2014. Flint officials changed its water source from the treated Detroit Water and Sewage Department , (which was sourced from Lake Huron and the Detroit River), to the Flint River. The corrosive Flint River water caused lead from aging pipes to leach into the water supply, causing extremely elevated levels of heavy metals contamination.
WE ACT will enter into frank discussions around the Flint crisis and other similar issues in cities around the country, (Cleveland, Newark) at our April 9th 2016 membership meeting. The meeting will start at as always at 10: a.m.
Reserve your seat. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors. It will be a lively discussion, one you won't want to miss
See you then.
