Residents of NYCHA matter. Their homes and their lived environment matters.
Join our Saturday Virtual Phone Bank February 13th, after the February Membership Meeting: Out of Gas as we kick off our voter engagement campaign to encourage NYCHA voters to pledge to vote in the NYC Primary this June!
As mentioned in our January Members Meeting, WE ACT has launched a voter engagement campaign to mobilize thousands of NYCHA voters to turnout in this year’s critical NYC Municipal elections. If we elect a more NYCHA-friendly City Council and Mayor that is responsive to the many environmental health hazards NYCHA residents face, we are more likely to see the reforms we need that ensure current and future generations of residents live in a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
We will be calling NYCHA residents from 2pm - 4pm to inform them about this campaign, ask them to pledge to vote, forms as well as sign up for information sessions so they can volunteer with WEACT in the future. This work will be a critical part of WEACT’s voter engagement and NYCHA outreach campaign work and will help WEACT build long lasting political and community power in NYC. You can volunteer from the comfort of your home- you simply need a phone, a computer, and access to the Internet.
Starting at 2pm, there will be a 20 minute training on Zoom where we’ll teach you everything you need to know to phonebank successfully. You’ll then hop off and make calls and jump back on 10 minutes before 4pm to debrief how it all went. Due to limited capacity with our calling system, we only need 10 volunteers to sign up.
If you want to join us, please RSVP using the form below. Before your shift, we’ll email you the Zoom link.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
