The area of focus for this planning process includes the communities of Northern Manhattan above 125th Street; an area that encompasses 7.2 square miles, and has a population of 557,000, which is equivalent to almost 34% of Manhattan’s total. 

This area includes Washington Heights, Inwood, West Harlem, Central Harlem, and East Harlem.
